Practicing Self-Care with Elevation at Washington Gateway

The 4-7-8 breathing technique involves breathing in for 4 seconds, holding the breath for 7 seconds, and exhaling for 8 seconds. This exercise can help reduce anxiety, increase relaxation, and help people get to sleep. Even doing it once can be a form of self-care that doesn’t take long to complete. However, when you can, take some more time to practice self-care.

A simple way to take a moment for yourself is by taking a stroll. Even taking a walk around our beautiful Elevation at Washington Gateway property can be enough. Soaking up some vitamin D in any way you choose can be a great way to practice self-care.

Changing your routine, even in small and simple ways, can be a unique way to incorporate self-care into your life. For example, drive a different route to work, try new recipes, listen to new music, go to a different grocery store, or all of the above!

Self-care can be taking care of your body as well as your mind. You can take a nice bath with lovely-smelling soap and candles. You can treat yourself to a new outfit. You could even give yourself an entire day and go to a local spa.

As we plan to return to school while summer winds down, Elevation at Washington Gateway encourages our community to take some time for themselves and take September head-on.
