It’s Almost Time for the National Cherry Blossom Festival
DC’s National Cherry Blossom Festival marks the arrival of spring and showcases the natural beauty and cultures of DC. Last year’s festivities drew over 1.5 million visitors, and organizers expect this year’s events to draw even bigger crowds. Scheduled for March 20 through April 12, the 2020 festival kicks off with a special “pink tie” fundraiser event on March 20, followed by an opening ceremony at the Warner Theater on March 21. Other attractions will include art and culture exhibitions, live music and dance performances, film screenings and sporting events, and much more.
Not sure which events are right for you? Consider the Blossom Kite Festival, the annual parade, or the Petalpalooza event—and check the website for a full calendar of events. Most of the festivals’ attractions are free, but keep in mind that some require you to register a ticket in advance.
