Work Up an Appetite for Turkey at the 18th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger
Before spending the day indulging in all the tasty eats and imbibing in all the festive cocktails, think about how you can give back on Thanksgiving Day. One way? Join the 18th Annual Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger on Thanksgiving morning, with over 8,000 other runners looking to give back in the D.C. area on Turkey Day. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting SOME, a local non-profit that provides food, housing, healthcare, employment training, as well as treatment programs for those suffering from addiction.
There are two race options for the day, both kick-off at Freedom Plaza. For the little guys, there is a one-mile fun run starting at 8:30 a.m. and for all others, the 5K starts at 9:00 a.m. Registration is open online now and ranges from $35 – $40 depending on whether you’d like to be timed or not. You can also choose to be a virtual participant and support while running wherever you are to celebrate the holiday!
