Don’t Miss the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Production of “The Oresteia” From April 30 to June 2
The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s current feature is The Oresteia, and it’s a masterpiece many years in the making. For this production, the STC commissioned visionary playwright Ellen McLaughlin to adapt the trilogy of Aeschylus into a new work. The result of three years of hard work, this iteration of The Oresteia is a fascinating marriage of the stories into one winding tale.
This run of The Oresteia marks the end of director Michael Kahn’s tenure as Artistic Director at the STC, and it couldn’t be a more majestic and fitting finale to his impressive work with the company. Weeknight evening performances and weekend matinees are available, and there are several audience events planned through the remainder of the May dates. The Oresteia ends its run at the Harman Center for the Arts on June 2.
