Start the Halloween Season With Boo at the Zoo from October 19 – 24

The spooky season is upon us again, and the National Zoo is once again hosting its annual Boo at the Zoo event. For the entire weekend of October 19, ticketed guests can enjoy this one-of-a-kind trick-or-treat experience.

There will be over 40 treat stations scattered across the zoo, sponsored by companies like Mars, Crispy Green, Goetze’s Candy, Haribo, KIND Snacks and Utz Foods, which you’ll collect in a free commemorative zoo tote bag. In addition to traditional trick-or-treat experience, visitors can gain after-hours access to several zoo exhibits, including the small mammal house, great ape enclosure, giant cat exhibit and elephant circle. As many zoo animals are nocturnal, this is a chance to see many of the critters that may not be as active during normal zoo hours. For safety reasons, please note that full face masks on adults, balloons, and toy weapons are not permitted on zoo grounds.
