Celebrate the Holidays at ZooLights at the National Zoo
Who says it’s too cold outside for a trip to the zoo? ZooLights makes for an incredible evening of impressive light displays, holiday shopping, delicious treats, and more. This free event runs through January 1, and young and old alike will find plenty to see and do.
Take a lap on The Smithsonian’s National Zoo Choo-Choo for a great view of the dancing lights. There is also a glow-in-the-dark play zone for the kids, snow-less tubing, and DC’s first mobile art gallery. Shop for gifts at the GRUMP outdoor market, and score those last-minute finds sure to impress the hardest person on your gift list. The market is featured at ZooLights from December 15th to the 17th. You can also warm up and check in on a few of the animals in the Small Mammal House, Think Tank, and Reptile Discovery Center. So bundle up, and make your way to ZooLights. Attractions are open each evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
