Not Sure What to Do This Summer Near Elevation at Washington Gateway? We Have Some Suggestions!

With the official start of summer less than a week away, it’s time to get out and enjoy all that NoMa has to offer! Here are just a few can’t-miss events taking place near Elevation at Washington Gateway this summer:

1) NoMa Summer Screen at Storey Park (1005 First St.)
This summer movie series, named one of the best of its kind in the country by Travel and Leisure, transforms Storey Park into an outdoor movie theater at 7 p.m. every Wednesday. As soon as the sun sets (around 8:30 p.m.), a feature film hits the big screen, each film reflecting the year’s chosen theme. This year’s theme is “Dance, Dance, Dance,” and the movie to be shown this week (June 15) will be Flashdance!

Food trucks set up on the park’s perimeter, but you’re welcome to bring your own food and beverages. And don’t forget lawn chairs! Ending August 19, NoMa Summer Screen is free and open to the public.

2) Wunder Garten at NoMa (150 M St. NE)
Open seven days a week, Wunder Garten at NoMA is a seasonal pop-up beer garden. This is a cool spot to meet some friends from Elevation at Washington Gateway for post-work brews and a game of cornhole. The open-air beer garden also hosts a revolving lineup of food trucks, who’ll be on site to dole out barbecue, crepes, pizza, and other eats that pair well with an ice-cold brew.

3) Union Market (1309 Fifth St. NE)
Sure, this foodie favorite is best known for its concentration of artisanal food vendors, but did you know that Union Market also hosts special events? Offered on a regular basis, events here span weekly yoga classes and movie showings to shopping pop-ups and cocktail-making workshops.
